Chambray Baby Quilt

My older sister came to visit the other day and brought a project with her. She has some friends expecting their first child, and made them a baby quilt with a chambray bundle by Robert Kaufman from Purl Soho

She had the quilt top together and asked me to machine quilt it. For the back, she purchased a beautiful Liberty of London floral print. Fancy baby!

Here are a few photos:

She sewed the random HSTs. I quilted an all over meandering pattern.

Liberty of London, oh la la.

She took it home with her to add the binding in time for the baby shower. I think it turned out great. It’s not cutesy-baby at all, which I really like. These modern NYC babies don’t do cute.

There’s some leftover chambray, and I’m planning to make another baby quilt out of the leftovers.
